The beachfront property sits on an island were no running water nor electricity is available. The design is conceived to exploit the natural forces: the volume of the house is fragmented in several pavilions in order to allow the prevailing winds to freely cross the rooms, screened by adjustable wooden louvers. Seawater will be

treated through a desalination system and efficiently converted into fresh water for domestic use, while electricity will be solar powered. The frame is in steel, while locally sourced, renewable blue gum wood is used as the main cladding and decking material.
